5K | 10K | Half Marathon | Kids’ Fun Run/Walk
The Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Run is a beloved Coastside tradition, drawing runners and walkers from across the country for more than 40 years.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific coastline, participants can choose from a 5K, 10K, or half marathon along the scenic Coastal Trail. Younger runners can join the fun, too, with a festive Kids Fun Run through the Hatch Elementary neighborhood. And of course—every participant takes home a pumpkin!
More than just a race, the Pumpkin Run is a community-powered event that benefits Senior Coastsiders. Every registration directly supports programs and services that help older adults on the Coastside live independently, stay connected, and thrive.

But, for everyone’s safety and due to insurance requirements, pets are not permitted on the race course or within the event area.

The Pumpkin Run sells out every year, with a cap of 1,500 runners—so plan ahead!
Skip the race-day lines by picking up your bib and swag early at one of our convenient packet pick-up locations.

We rely on an incredible team to make race day a success—helping direct runners along the course, assisting with packet pick-up, handing out medals and goodie bags, supporting the bag drop station, and pitching in with set-up and clean-up.
